Untold Stories

Untold Stories is inspired by the book My Mother who Fathered Me by Edith Clarke which was written in 1957. It is a study of three families from three different areas of Jamaica who have three different socio economic backgrounds. It attempts to understand kinship organisation and the marginality and /or absence of the father figure in African Caribbean families. Using this historical backdrop against contemporary research I have been exploring how the advent of globalisation has impacted and enabled this sociological problem once indigenous to the Caribbean to traverse cultures and nations.
